Last night before bed, I called my parents and we went through our book titles until we found a book we had in common. That book was 'Love you Forever' By Robert Munsch, which just happens to be my favorite of his. This is a book that we read to the kids when we have a hard day. I bought my best friend a copy of this book, and in return she bought me a copy when I had my daughter. After choosing the book, we went on skype and my mom read the kids their bedtime story. My parents live a few provinces away, so it was really nice to have them able to read to their grand kids. I think we'll do this more often :)
Have you ever had someone read a book to your kids on the phone or skype? Was it well received? What books have you tried?
Hey, love your paint picture :) I've recorded books on tape/cd/video for my nieces. They in turn put on skype/video little plays/dance/music recitals for my boys to watch. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWe're going home for Christmas, and my sister and I are hoping to record our relatives reading books on CD for our girls. I think that's a great idea, especially since we live so far away, and some of our grandparents are getting up there and years. It'll be something I'll hang onto for years.
